How Prescribed Patient makes money

Prescribed Patient is an independent editorial site. We keep this page short and specific so you can see exactly who pays us, how much separation there is between commercial revenue and what we publish, and what we will never do.

Our revenue sources

The site is funded in three ways, in this order of importance:

  1. Display advertising served by third-party ad networks. Ads are labelled and served programmatically — advertisers do not choose which of our articles they appear on, and we do not accept direct advertiser placements on editorial pages.
  2. Affiliate partnerships with FCA-regulated brokers and providers, where clearly labelled. When you click an affiliate link and buy a product, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links only appear when the underlying recommendation would stand up on its own without one.
  3. Reader support — our free monthly newsletter is funded from the two revenue sources above. We do not currently accept donations or run a paid subscription.

What we will not do

  • Accept payment for editorial coverage, reviews or rankings.
  • Publish sponsored posts or advertorials in editorial slots.
  • Recommend or endorse any clinic, prescriber or dispensary.
  • Cover any company connected to a member of our editorial team. See our Editorial Policy for the full conflict-of-interest rules.
  • Recommend a specific insurance product, dose or treatment plan. Talk to an FCA-regulated adviser and your prescriber.

How we separate money from editorial

The editorial team decides what to publish and when. Nobody on the commercial side has sign-off over article content, headlines, product mentions or rankings. Affiliate links are added only after an article is written and only where the recommendation stands on its own — we do not build articles around monetisable products.

When we do include an affiliate link, we label it clearly and, where relevant, disclose the commission arrangement in the same paragraph. If a product is worth mentioning but we have no affiliate relationship, we still mention it.

Corrections and complaints

If you think a piece of content is influenced by a commercial relationship — or is simply wrong — email hello@prescribedpatient.co.uk. We read everything, correct errors quickly and log material changes in the article footer.
