Not legal advice
Everything published on Prescribed Patient — articles, guides, FAQs, quizzes and newsletters — is general editorial information for UK residents living with, or considering, a lawful medical cannabis prescription. It is not legal advice, does not create a solicitor–client relationship, and must not be relied on as a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer.
The law changes. Guidance from regulators, the DVLA, the Home Office, the police and the courts evolves; enforcement practice varies by force and region; individual facts matter enormously. What is broadly true for most patients may be wrong for you.
If you are facing a specific legal issue — a police stop, a driving prosecution, an employment dispute, a family-law matter, an immigration question, a criminal charge, or any other situation with legal consequences — instruct a solicitor regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (or the Law Society of Scotland / Law Society of Northern Ireland). The Law Society's Find a Solicitor directory is a reasonable starting point.
We do our best to keep the guidance accurate and dated, and we correct errors quickly when we find them. But Prescribed Patient, its authors and contributors accept no liability for decisions taken, or not taken, on the basis of anything published here.
